Fuchs advances to semi-finals of U.S. Olympic Boxing Trials

Memphis, TN (Oct. 27, 2015) – Ginny Fuchs defeated Amanda Pavone tonight in the quarterfinal round of the U.S. Olympic Boxing Trials. Fuchs, a Houston native who is seeded #2 in the 112-pound Flyweight division, won by unanimous decision.

Fuchs is now one of only two undefeated boxers remaining in the Olympic Trials, a double-elimination tournament which runs through Oct. 31 or Nov. 1. The other is Marlen Esparza, who is also from Houston. Four other boxers each have one loss and two boxers have been eliminated.

Fuchs and Esparza will face-off in the semi-finals on Wednesday evening. Esparza advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Christina Cruz.
